Bug Slayer Bundle FAQsUpdated 8 months ago
How do I use my Bug Slayer Bundle?
This bundle is a broad-stroke solution, ideal for ridding your home of flying and creepy-crawly insects.
To cover all your bases, place the Fly Inn towards the bottom of a well-lit window, the Sweet Surrender inside the Fruit Fly trap near your fresh produce (or where you see the most fruit flies), and use Six Feet Under after vacuuming and dusting to address or prevent moths and their eggs or larvae. Six Feet Under can also instantly kill flies and other intruders on contact.
With these products, you have an arsenal ready to slay any bugs that come your way.
Are these products safe for the environment?
Dr Killigan takes pride in using only the safest ingredients - many of which can be found in most pantries across the USA.
Dr. Killigan’s Fly Inn is made with non-toxic glue applied to recycled paper. Sweet Surrender is made with all-natural, plant-based ingredients specifically designed to draw in fruit flies. Six Feet Under is also made with essential oils that are regularly used in households everywhere.
So, the answer is a resounding YES! All of Dr Killigan's products are safe for your home, children, pets and the environment.
Does Six Feet Under work as a repellent?
Six Feet Under is a great two-edged sword against bugs: it kills on contact, and keeps unwanted critters away for up to 30 days!
To kill on contact, use the spray function to aim and shoot from up to several feet away.
To prevent keep bugs away from a particular area, use the mist function on porous surfaces to repel bugs for up to 30 days. We recommend targeting areas where insects may be entering your home, such as around baseboards, door and window frames, and in pantry cracks and crevices.
Six Feet Under is NOT recommended for use on skin.
Where do I place The Fly Inn?
Flies, along with other flying insects, are attracted to light. You may have noticed that they gather at your windows based on that very fact.
In order to capitalize on this, the Fly Inn traps are designed to be placed on your windows. Using them elsewhere won't yield the results you're after. We recommend placing the traps along the bottom edge of your window, so that flies and other insects are more likely to fly into the wide mouth and get caught.
To place the traps, you will want to identify your most high-bug-traffic windows. Choose windows that seem to be high traffic or "popular hangouts" for bugs. Then, ensure the glass is clean, and the suction cups are slightly damp for maximum suction power. Follow the directions on the packaging to get the Fly Inn situated, and let it do the work.
What types of bugs will The Fly Inn catch?
Did you know that there are over 16,000 types of flying insects, in North America alone? That's a lot! And fortunately for us, most of them are what we call Phototactic. That means that they're attracted to light. Some of the more common ones you would find in your home are the housefly, fruit fly, gnat, garbage fly, blow fly and drain fly.
The Fly Inn is a simple mechanism designed to trap insects that are drawn to the light streaming in through our home's windows. So, in short, the Fly Inn will catch anything that flies into it, as it's sitting quietly on your window.
How does the Fruit Fly Trap catch fruit flies?
We're glad you asked! The Fruit Fly Trap is more than just another bug trap: our patent-pending design is engineered with every detail considered.
Dr Killigan's Fruit Fly Trap's vent lines are calibrated to perfection, allowing just the right amount of aroma to escape. These lines serve as pathways, directing fruit flies to their ultimate destination. Even the entrance holes at the end of each vent line are meticulously sized to be inviting only to our targeted pests.
In short, it's a trap engineered for efficiency. Partnered with our unique Sweet Surrender formula, designed with a lower surface tension to keep the flies from alighting on top of the liquid's surface, you have a Fruit Fly-catching sweet spot, if you will.
How long does Sweet Surrender last?
Once opened, Sweet Surrender will last up to 6 weeks. Unopened and stored as indicated in a cool, dark place, it lasts for 2 years from the manufacture date, listed on the container.
Various factors, such as heat, air flow and light exposure can affect the longevity of the attractant. We encourage you to use your discretion and change it out if the container is becoming overly full of insects, or if you feel it should be changed for any other reason.
The Fruit Fly Trap can be reused indefinitely, and refills of the Sweet Surrender can be purchased separately.
